What Runda homes are like
Houses are detached, substantial and set well back from the road on landscaped plots. Four to six bedrooms is common, usually across two storeys, with formal and informal living areas, several bathrooms and staff quarters on the same compound.
Interiors are typically well finished — tiled or hardwood floors with large rugs, considerable upholstered furniture across multiple sitting areas, and extensive glazing onto the gardens. A whole-house clean here covers a lot of ground, and there are usually several mattresses and more than one sofa set in play.
The area is almost entirely residential and includes a significant number of diplomatic and expatriate residences, given its proximity to the UN complex and embassies at Gigiri.
